Dear Students,
TUM is again competing for elite university status. The contest launched by the federal and state governments to promote science and research at German universities has now entered the second round. TUM was successful in 2005/06 and was officially named one of Germany’s few elite universities. Numerous trail-blazing innovations have since been carried out, and TUM is gearing up for the future full of ground-breaking ideas.
How can the standard of teaching at TUM be enhanced even further? What ideas do the lecturers themselves have? Two new prizes have now been introduced to help support these contemplations. They offer teaching staff a way of developing new concepts and implementing them directly. Turn to our report in TUMstudinews for further details.
Another service we wish to mention is the new student helpline hosted by students. The “Nightline München” is manned during the evening hours and at night-time. Anyone can call the helpline and talk anonymously and confidentially about any matters that are troubling him or her. The calls are fielded by other students who have been especially trained for this service.
