  The main campus of the Technische Universität München is situated close to Munich central railway station and benefits from good public transport connections.

  It takes approximately 40 minutes by rail from the airport to the central station using the S1 or S8 line.

  Here you find the academic departments: Architecture, Civil engineering and surveying, Electrical engineering and information technology, TUM School of Management and TUM School of Education.

Garching, Research campus

• Travelling by public transport
  

  It takes 25 min. by Underground from Marienplatz to the Garching campus (U6 to the terminal Garching-Forschungszentrum – research centre).

  Coming from Munich Airport, take the S-Bahn (suburban railway) S8 as far as Ismaning, change to bus No. 230 or S1 to Neufahrn, then switch to the No. 690 bus.

  Here you find the academic departments: Chemistry, Physics, Informatics, Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering.
