Documentation HOLDERS OF THE OTTO HAHN AWARD
The Otto Hahn Award, named after the nuclear chemist and Nobel Prize
laureate Otto Hahn, was jointly recreated by the Association of German
Chemists (GDCh), the German Physical Society (DPG) and the City Council of
Frankfurt am Main in the spring of 2005. It merges the Otto Hahn Prize for
Chemistry and Physics with the Otto Hahn Prize of the City of Frankfurt am
Main. The award serves to promote scientific research, particularly in the
fields of chemistry, physics and applied engineering, by honouring
outstanding scientific achievements.
The award is presented every two years at St. Paul's church, Frankfurt, the
recipients being selected alternately from the fields of physics and
chemistry. It carries a cash prize worth 50,000 Euros and a gold
medal.
