Peter Löscher

CEO
Siemens AG

Peter Löscher was appointed CEO of Siemens AG on July 1, 2007. He is the twelfth CEO in the company’s 160-year history and the first to be hired from outside the Group. Peter Löscher has many years of experience working in the pharmaceutical and health sectors, both in Germany and abroad. His international management career began at the Hoechst Group in 1988. During his eleven years at Hoechst, he worked in Spain, the USA, the UK and Japan. He later took up positions at General Electric Healthcare and General Electric Healthcare Bio-Sciences. Prior to joining Siemens, Peter Löscher was President of Global Human Health at Merck & Co., Inc. in the USA.

Peter Löscher studied economics at the University of Vienna and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Vienna. He completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School in the USA. Peter Löscher was born in Villach, Austria, and is married with three children. Since February 2010, he has served as a member of the TUM Supervisory Board.
