Dr. Ludwig Kronthaler was born in 1957 and has two children. He has held various tax administration posts in Bavaria (Ministry of Finance, Tax Office, Bavarian State Representative Office in Bonn) before and after studying law in Augsburg. He held the position of Chancellor of TUM from February 1997 to September 2005. After that, he served as a judge at the Federal Fiscal Court in Munich until March 2007. He became Secretary General of the Max Planck Society in Munich in October 2010.
