Benoît Godin is a leading conceptual historian and critical scholar of science, technology, and innovation. In his talk, he will discuss the various meanings of ‘innovation’ over the centuries and in various social contexts, the contested framings and normative uses of innovation and its models, and the context that explains these uses. He concludes with thoughts on ‘technological innovation’ as an ideology. The Munich Colloquium on Technology in Society is designed as a series of public lectures.
