Every year TU München organizes various Summer University courses for international students, who are open-minded, want to widen their academic horizon and get new experiences.

 

Winter University 2010

 

Culture and Technology in Munich (10.01.-30.01.2010)

 

The Winter University course gives you insight into German language and culture as well as into top research and student life at TUM. Visits to cultural and historical sites and to famous companies show you, what today's Germany can offer you. This program is oriented towards students of science and engineering, computer science, business administration and social sciences.

Summer University Programs 2010

 

Innovation, Technology and Society in Germany (01.06.-22.06.2010)

This Summer University course introduces you to innovations and international cooperation for example in scientific computing, project management and bioinformatics. It also contributes to a deeper understanding of the modern German society. You will visit high-tech and traditional industrial locations in and around Munich (e.g. Siemens) as well as get to know the most famous historical sites in Bavaria.

Program Innovation, Technology and Society 2009

 

Finding Nano - Discovering Nanotechnology and Culture in Germany (14.06.-25.07.2010)

This Summer University gives you an overview of the technological landscape of Germany, with an emphasis on nanotechnology and nanoengineered materials. Excursions to industrial sites, research laboratories and cultural points of relevance (such as BMW, Max-Planck-Institutes, Nuremberg) illustrate Germany's position in the technological world. You will also get an insight in German and European culture. The course is of special interest to undergraduates of science and engineering who have completed an introduction to quantum mechanics or quantum chemistry.

Program Finding Nano 2009

 

Engineering and Management across Cultures (02.08.-23.08.2010)

In this Summer University program you get insight into various fields of civil engineering, geodesy, physics as well as natural science at TUM, the research university number one in Germany. One important component of the program is the intensive seminar in one of TUM's facilities outside of Munich. The Summer University includes trips to cultural and historical sights in and around Munich.

Pre-Study Course (05.09.-30.09.2010)

The Pre-Study Course offers you the chance to promote your language skills and introduces you to the academic life in Germany. The workshops and lectures, which fit your academic profile, prepare you for the studies at TUM. The Summer University Team will guide you through the formalities at TUM and with other authorities. The social and cultural activities and the trips in and around Munich give you an opportunity to get acquainted with Bavaria and to make new friends.
