Description of course of studies

The goal of the program “Industrial Engineer” is to give students a firm comprehension and outstanding skills to identify, analyze and solve problems in business administration. An extremely important feature of the program is the management know-how in an international context.

The program can be differentiated into two stages. In the basic courses, attended during the first semester, the students build a solid, broad foundation of general business studies and techniques, economics and law. These courses are all compulsory. In the second stage, students choose from a range of elective courses to build on the techniques and concepts developed in the basic courses.

Electives are complemented by a choice of courses on various other topics to ensure a broad knowledge in general methods of management.

Courses are designed to convey to students a close linkage between theory and practice. This linkage is reinforced by a compulsory practice project, in which teams of students work with companies on particular assignments. The result is expected to be of practical value for the company. These projects are supervised jointly by mentors from the respective partner company and the university.

The students complete the program with the preparation of an independent scientific work, the Master’s Thesis.
