Description of course of studies

The Bachelor’s course of study in Nuclear Technology at TU München was designed to equip future nuclear engineers with the high level of technical knowledge and skills needed to understand the principles of nuclear science and nuclear technology in great detail. This is intended to help them (i) analyze the operations of nuclear reactors, (ii) confidently work with radiation sources and (iii) analyze the safety of nuclear systems, and apply their knowledge in these areas. Graduates of the course of study will be able to perform supporting tasks for an engineering team in the nuclear sector. Such teams might be responsible for the operation, design and analysis of a nuclear energy system, or other industrial activities relating to the safe use and handling of radiation. Furthermore, graduates will be able to apply their knowledge to help support decision-making processes and regulatory or supervisory tasks carried out by state or federal offices. Ultimately, they will have a fundamental knowledge of nuclear topics, which allows them to continue their education with the Master’s course of study in Nuclear Technology offered at TUM.
