Description of course of studies

Mathematik is a full-time master’s program with a standard period of four semesters. This program requires a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a comparable.

The Mathematik course of study at the TUM is meant to prepare students pursuing future careers in: Universities, Research Institutes, Research and Development departments of large corporations, Public Authority, and Small and Medium-sized businesses. Mathematicians mainly work in basic research (mostly in interdisciplinary teams) and in areas such as; Software Development, Consulting, Data Security, Communications and IT.
