Mathematics in Science and Engineering is a full-time master’s program with a standard period of four semesters. This program requires a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a comparable. The mathematical education is made up of specializations in the fields of Mathematical Model Building, Numerics, Applied Analysis, Optimization, Probability and Statistics, and Computer Science. Specializations in the fields of science and engineering are individually selectable however, an integrated concept of study must clearly be defined.The Mathematics in Science and Engineering course of study at the TUM is meant to prepare students pursuing future careers in: software and engineering companies, development departments of large organizations as well as science and engineering research institutions.
