The Master in Landscape Architecture (LA) is an official program of the Faculty of Architecture at the Technische Universität München (TUM). According to the concept of two-staged study programs, it builds up on the Bachelor program in "Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning" (BSc) at the TUM. It is open to graduates of equivalent study courses at other universities. It is a scientific study-program, combining aspects of planning, artistic creativity and technical knowledge in the field of Landscape Architecture. The objective is to provide a broad theoretical foundation and to give an orientation towards the professional practice. Students will develop and strengthen their competences in dealing with the analytic, artistic and technical aspects of designing open spaces and urban systems on different scales.Duration of Study
4 semesters (for graduates in an eight-semester-long bachelor's degree program with an integrated internship 3 semesters)

Prior to the study, applicants must prove an at least 6-month stay at a foreign university or at a foreign institution (in a general non-German speaking country) with professional relation to the Landscape Architecture.Application and admission

- copy of the BSc or Diplom graduation certificate/ other school leaving certificate or examination which qualifies the applicant to study at an institution of higher education in Germany. If this is not yet available, a proof of coursework and examinations
- Written explanatory statement for the choice of this course (letter of motivation, max. 1 to 2 A4 pages)
- Portfolio: Work samples (max. 10 pages A3)
- Written assurance that the candidate has written the statement for the choice of study and the essay independently and unassisted and ideas which have been taken from other sources have been identified as such
- Work / work placement and other evidence of professional or course-specific additional qualifications (if any professional training)
- Applicants who have obtained the bachelor's or graduate degree in landscape architecture at the Technical University of Munich, do not need to attach documents mentioned in points 4 to 7
- Qualification requirements acc. § 36 of FPO/STO valid from 11. August 2009 must be met
- For foreign applicants: proof of German language proficiency (by recognized language certificate from TUM)
