Description of course of studies
Engineering geology as a field of geotechnical engineering allegorises the link between natural scientific areas of geosciences and engineering sciences. Engineering geologists are consigned to explore and investigate the underground, hence develop derived underground models as well as to determine rock properties. They design and complete measures in the fields of traffic route engineering, tunnel construction, natural resources and mitigation of natural hazards. Hydrogeology deals with the Earth’s water cycle. Therefore Hydrogeology provides a basis for these topics: drinking water supply, ground water and soil contamination as well as geothermal energy generation.
