Orientation:The Bachelor program "Informatik: Games Engineering" teaches comprehensive knowledge about game technologies. At the same time you will learn a wide range of informatics and mathematics as a basis for lifelong learning. The bachelor degree enables many possibilities for later jobs and further studies of computer science, e.g. Mater of Computer Science. As part of the program the faculty encourages and supports the students to absolve parts of their studies abroad.
Competence:
You will study at one of Germans biggest and most renominated computer science faculties. Several chairs have proven competence in the required basis technologies in the field of games engineering. Several partnerships with technology companies ensure a profound and practical education.
Focus:
You will study state-of-the-art and future-oriented technologies (e.g. Game Engine Design, Computer Graphics, Simulation, Interaction, Social Games, Artificial Intelligence, Usability, etc.). You will take part at game projects in each semester. You train social and communicative skills by participating in discussions about the results gathered from group projects. You demonstrate your independent competence in a final bachelor thesis, often in collaboration with companies and on real existing problems.
Outlook:
The Bachelor of "Informatik: Games Engineering" enables you to apply for jobs in the game industry. Nevertheless you still have access to the traditional IT-industry and other economy branches, like automobile, aerospace, mechanical and plant engineering, medicine, financial and management. The Bachelor is the basis for various further Master degrees, e.g. Master of Computer Science - at the TUM or other German or foreign universities. This means best career prospects in Germany and all over the world.
