Description of course of studies

In both research and education, Informatics at the TUM belongs to the top leading German universities. Not only with regard to the overall student situation but also in terms of reputation of the professors, research funds, and equipment, Informatics at TUM is right at the top in many university rankings. Students benefit from the good support and academic supervision and also complete their studies in a far shorter time compared with other German universities.

In the Bachelor program Informatics the basic foundations of the field are taught. This is a fundamental prerequisite for long-life learning which is important especially in the fast moving area of Informatics. Besides the basic knowledge of Informatics students also learn soft skills like presentation and communication. A minor subject, e.g. mechanical engineering or economics, is a mandatory part of the program. By that students get in touch with an exemplary application area of Informatics.
