Description of course of studies

Chemical engineering and process engineering are the two areas of engineering concerned with developing and implementing methods that convert basic raw materials into a variety of products. The engineers involved deal with changing substances into useful intermediate or end products such as fuels, plastics, cosmetics, dyes, crop protection agents, foods and luxury foods and medical preparations ¾ by means of physical, chemical and biological processes that frequently call forth changes in physical state or form. In addition to improving existing processes, chemical engineers also develop new process engineering applications in response to changes safety and environmental protection requirements. Chemical engineers perform varied and responsible work in such areas as research and development, planning, design, operation, construction, purchasing, sales, safety engineering, teaching, documentation, know-how exchange, patent procedures, business management and controlling.
