Description of course of studies

The work of biologists overlaps that of pharmaceutical chemists, biochemists, veterinarians, agronomists and other graduates in subjects closely related to biology, and biological research is conducted in a wide range of fields, such as molecular biology, biochemistry, immunobiology, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, morphology, taxonomy, animal and plant physiology, behavioral biology and ecology. Work of a more practical nature is done in the fields of environmental protection, animal and plant production, plant pathology and pest control, the food and brewing industries, pharmaceutics, pharmacology and forest and fishing biology. A degree in biology opens up careers in teaching and research, as well as public authorities, various industries, mapping offices, publishing houses, and so on.

Major fields of study

Botanics, Zoology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Applied Ecology, Technology of Biology Minor subjects: once the basic part of the course has been completed, students study one major subject and two minor ones.
