Description of course of studies

News as of summer semester 2015!
Master of Environmental Planning and Engineering Ecology | Flexible study models (100%/66%/50%) More Information

Target groups
You are interested in a master in Environmental Planning and Engineering Ecology, but you see currently no way for a full-time study? However, you are flexible in time and ready to study not only in the evening or on weekends? Then you should get to know our flexible part-time model!

Models, concepts and procedures for the use and protection of the human environment are the focus of the Master's program of environmental planning and engineering ecology. The teaching of these skills should lead to a scientifically-competent and critical-consciously deal with questions of nature and environmental protection. Topic is for examples the use and modification of abiotic and biotic resources such as soil, water, air, flora and fauna, the handling of waste or the reclamation of contaminated soils and waters. In addition, the protection and development of aesthetic qualities of nature, the discussion and development of guidelines, issues of landscape management and strategies for their implementation in different societies and cultures.

Model
The part-time model offers flexible options in special private situations, such as a profession, business or family phase. Before the start of each semester in the Master you decide, in which study model you`ll enroll. By choosing your percentage (100, 66, or 50) the maximal achievable number of credits per semester is determined. A change between the various forms: full-time, part-time 66% and part time 50% is possible before each semester in order to adapt to your individual situation.

Structuring an Individual Study Plan
With the help of the department’s academic counseling service you have to design an individual study plan before the beginning of each semester. The full-time master`s program offers a very flexible study design due to a large number of electives provided. In the two part-time courses this choice of subjects can easily be stretched over a longer period of time.
