Description of course of studies

Industrial Biotechnology makes use of microorganisms or enzymes for industrial production. Industrial Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary science: on one hand molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology and bioinformatics are used for designing new biocatalysts (enzymes or microbial production systems). On the other hand the methods of process engineering science and technical chemistry are necessary to make use of the potential of these newly designed biocatalysts for industrial production. Masters of Science in Industrial Biotechnology perform varied and responsible work especially in research and development from laboratory to technical scale in chemicals industry, bio-industry, plant engineering and construction, biopharmaceutical industry, and environmental industry, respectively.
