Advanced Construction and Building Technology Master Prof. Prof. h.c./SRSTU Dr.-Ing./Univ. Tokio Thomas Bock; Dr.-Ing. Christos Georgoulas; Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Linner
Advanced Materials Science (Elite graduate program)
Major fields of study: Synthesis, structure, analysis, and functionality of New Materials (e.g. optical and magnetic materials, nanostructured solids and surfaces, advanced polymer materials, biocompatible materials).
Master Lucia Weissenborn
Aerospace Engineering Master Dr. Ingrid Mayershofer
Aerospace Engineering (GIST-TUM Asia)
Major fields of study: Core modules:
  • Aerodynamics
  • Flight Performance and Dynamics
  • Structures and Materials
  • Propulsion
  • Advanced Mathematics
Three focus areas will be offered: ‘Aerodynamics and Propulsion’, ‘Structures, Materials and Systems’, and ‘Flight Mechanics and Control’:

Focus Area 1: Aerodynamics and Propulsion
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Turbulent Flows
  • Boundary Layer Theory
  • Turbo Compressors
Focus Area 2: Structures, Materials and Systems
  • Plate and Shell Structures
  • Fracture Mechanics and Non-destructive testing
  • Carbon Fibre Composite Materials
  • Aerosystems
  • Lightweight and Aerospace Structures
Focus Area 3: Flight Mechanics and Control
  • Advanced Flight Dynamics
  • Flight Control Systems
  • Advanced Control of Flight Systems
  • Spacecraft Technology
Students have to choose 3 subjects from their Major Focus area, 2 subjects from their Secondary Focus area, 2 subjects from any of the Focus area and 2 subjects as Electives from any of the Engineering courses provided by GIST.

Students with a 4-year BSc degree and with a background in Aerospace Engineering can get exemption for the core courses ‘Aerodynamics’, ‘Flight Dynamics and Control’, ‘Structures and Materials’, ‘Propulsion’ as well as the Lab Modules.

Other students may apply for a waiver for core course modules, if similar achievements can be provided as part of their 4-year BSc programme. The decision is made by NTU and TUM on a case-by-case basis.

Duration of Study
- 4 ( 3 years BEng degree or a Mechanical Engineering degree (without aeronautical specialization))
- 3 ( 3 years BEng degree or Mechanical Engineering degree (with substantial aerospace background ))

Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences
Major fields of study: Following the introductory period during the first three semesters, a certain field of study may be defined through your choice of electives.
Bachelor For Agricultural Science: Dipl.-Ing. Susanne Papaja-Hülsbergen; for Horticultural Science: Prof. Dr. Dieter Treutter
Agricultural Sciences
Major fields of study: Students may select one of four fields: Agrobioscience – Plants, Agrobioscience – Animals, Agricultural Ecosystems, and Agricultural Economy and Agribusiness
Master Dipl.-Ing. agr. Susanne Papaja-Hülsbergen
Agrimanagement
Major fields of study: The innovative concept of „studying along the lines of production” is a unique feature of the master’s degree program AGRIMANAGEMENT corresponding to the demand of business-oriented academic education. The program incorporates a wide range of required courses and required electives courses.

Five common required modules convey profound knowledge and management skills in the field of agricultural economics and agricultural ecology.

The students may specialize through an individual combination of basic and advanced modules. They will achieve expertise in a certain line of products:
  • cash crop production – processing and refinement,
  • plant and animal production from organic farming,
  • forage production – milk.
Throughout the course of studies students will participate in project-oriented classes and hands-on tutorials, such as the integrating modules “Agricultural Production Systems”.
Master Dipl.-Ing. Susanne Papaja-Hülsbergen
Architecture Bachelor Prof. Manfred Schuller, Marga Cervinka
Architecture Master Marga Cervinka
Automotive and Combustion Engine Technology Master Dr. Ingrid Mayershofer
Automotive Software Engineering
Major fields of study: This course of study contains elements from computer science, software engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronic, and economic science. Within the course of study, students can form an individual major by choosing a lab, a seminar and their master thesis’s topic.
Master Prof. Manfred Broy
Biochemistry
Major fields of study: Biochemistry (no specialisation in bachelor)
Bachelor Prof. Dr. Johannes Buchner
Biochemistry
Major fields of study: Research training, structural biochemistry, medical aspects
Master Prof. Dr. Johannes Buchner
Bioinformatics Bachelor Prof. Volker Heun; Dr. Angelika Reiser
Bioinformatics (a joint study course offered by TUM and LMU) Master Prof. Volker Heun; Dr. Angelika Reiser
