Accommodation service for TUMexchange students or international exchange students
- Double degree and TUMexchange
- Erasmus program, partner universities and other exchange programs
- Exchange students of science center Weihenstephan (WZW), Freising
- Rental agreement
Exchange students cannot apply directly to the Studentenwerk for a room in a student hall. TUM has only a very limited number of student hall places available for international program students, and they are allotted by the International Office. Unfortunately, we do not have enough rooms to accommodate all 700 exchange students per year. Please bear with us that we are unable to organize rooms for students coming under the Erasmus program and the program "partner university" (Exception: Double Degree Program).
Incoming students on Double Degree and TUMexchange programs are automatically registered for a place in a student hall after they are accepted from the International Office. The TUM accommodation service will get in touch with you. You will be offered a room in a hall of residence belonging to the Studentenwerk,
Erasmus program, partner universities, EURECA (also double degree EURECA) and all other programs not mentioned above
Applications for these programs at TUM do not include the provision of a room in a student hall belonging to the Studentenwerk. Please make your own accommodation arrangements on the private market of Munich. Remember to start flat-hunting in good time!!!
For further details, please look up: Tips for accommodation seekers on our homepage.
The International Office forwards applications from international students for the WZW to the colleagues in Freising. You will hear from Weihenstephan directly. Contact address: international@wzw.tum.de.
Once a room in a hall of residence has become available, you will receive an e-mail from the Studentenwerk Munich containing all the relevant information regarding your room and a Declaration of Acceptance ("Annahmeerklärung“). If you definitely want to rent the room, please print out the document, sign it and sent it back either by fax or by post to the Studentenwerk. Your reservation will be cancelled if you miss the deadline. You sign the rental agreement on arrival at the management office of your hall of residence.
Please note!! The rental agreements are binding for one semester. It is not possible to cancel the lease during this term. The maximum rental period is 1 year. The lease may be agreed for a maximum of 2 years for Double Degree students, provided it has been drawn up for the relevant period right from the start. We cannot guarantee that the lease can be extended at a later date for Double Degree students.
