Important terms
- Academic year: the academic year begins on October 1 of a year and ends on September 30 of the following year.
- Semester: the winter semester lasts from October 01 to March 31, the summer semester lasts from April 01 to September 30.
- Lecture period: lecture periods are distinct from semester periods. The lecture period in the winter semester lasts from approximately the middle of October to the middle of February, in the summer semester it lasts from approximately the middle of April to the middle of July
