Access to TUMonline and other central portals of TU München

Central TUM portals

TU München has a number of central portals which you can access using the same user name and password:
  • TUMonline: your application to TU München was handled through the TUMonline system. TUMonline is the central service portal of TU München for the areas of study and teaching and helps you administer your studies during your time at TUM. Here you can change your address, sign up for lectures, seminars and exams, check your fee account and receive certificates.
  • MyTUM portal: the MyTUM portal, which is where you are now, is an information platform. Here you have a mail account which we use to send you all important information relating to your studies. You will also find the latest news about TUM here as well as answers to questions on all aspects of your studies.
  • Moodle: Moodle is the eLearning portal of TU München. Here you will find lecture notes, etc.

Stages from application to enrollment

1. Applicant account
As an applicant you should first create a TUMonline applicant account which you can log onto using your private e-mail address and your own password.

2. Student account after acceptance of place
One day after accepting a place at TUM (before your actual enrollment) you will be issued with a student account in TUMonline. This enables you to do the following:

  • Set-up a TUM e-mail address with which to handle all e-mail communication with TU München (instructions). The address can also be used as a user name for TUMonline.
  • Use of IT services which you require prior to enrollment (e.g. registration for preparatory courses in some faculties).
  • Use of the MyTUM portal including accessing your mailbox.
  • Please note: you cannot use the e-learning system Moodle until after enrollment and the start of the semester on 01.10.2011 (therefore it is not possible to register for language courses before this date)!
3. Enrollment and the start of the semester
After enrollment and the start of the semester you will automatically receive regular student status in TUMonline, which gives you access to all the TUMonline and CLIX applications required for your studies (registration for courses and examinations, ...) as well as enabling you to use other IT services at TU München.
