Transfer Credits
- Credits may possibly be recognized if you have already completed parts or an entire program of study.
- The individual examination and study regulations provide information about the various courses of study and the respective contents. These and the respective examination committees can be found here.
- Please note: No review of recognition of foreign credits can be carried out prior to enrollment.
Recognition Procedure for Credits Acquired at German Universities or Technical Colleges or Universities
- The respective faculty is responsible for the recognition of credits acquired at a German university. Please contact the examination committee and obtain information on further procedures.
Recognition Procedure for Credits Acquired Abroad
- Specific informations of the departments
- The Registrar’s Office is responsible for the recognition of credits acquired abroad. Please use the following form:
Request for Recognition of Examinations and Periods of Study at Foreign Colleges and Universities
- Include an additional listing of courses and/or certificates with your request for recognition only if you did not indicate them with your application.
- Procedure
- After examination of the formal prerequisites the request for recognition is passed on to the respective preliminary diploma examination committee of the faculty responsible for discipline. There the technical prerequisites for recognition are examined.
- You will be notified in writing by the Registrar’s Office of the Technical University of Munich on the result of the recognition procedure. If recognition is connected with upgrading of the subject-related semester(s), then new academic documents will be sent to you along with the written notification.
- Please note: A request for recognition may only be submitted within the first two semesters of study at the Technical University of Munich.
