1. ONLINE APPLICATION


2. SENDING IN APPLICATION DOCUMENTS PER POST

      • You ALWAYS have to send in paper documents to back up the data you have submitted online! In other words, even if you have received your admission, you must send in
          • the signed admission application and
          • your paper documents
          • by post
          • to arrive within the specified deadline!
      • Required documents:
          • Bachelor's certificate and diploma: f these are not yet available, please be sure to initially submit your transcripts!
          • Certificate of student health insurance
          • If applicable, language certificate German and/or English (relevant information can be found on the homepage of the selected course of studies)
          • If applicable, statement of purpose, curriculum vitae, essay (relevant information can be found on the homepage of the selected course of studies).
      • Subsequent submission of documents:
          • You are allowed to submit these documents later: bachelor's certificate and diploma, proof of health insurance and English proficiency certificate (please note that TOEFL and IELTS scores are only valid for 2 years!)
          • The 5-week deadline applies to subsequent submission of these documents (i.e. up to 5 weeks after the start of lectures). Deviations are possible, please check the website of your course of studies. However, we recommend that you submit the documents before the semester starts, as you cannot be enrolled beforehand!
          • The German proficiency certificate must be submitted before the application deadline!
      • All certificates have to be sent as authenticated copies. Documents which are not in German, English or French must be translated into German by a court-registered translator and also submitted (more information on authenticated copies)!
      • Please do not submit originals but only officially authenticated copies. TU München cannot accept any liability for original certificates which are submitted unnecessarily. Please note that all documents submitted are digitized and therefore destroyed after a certain period of time.
      • You are required to submit a complete set of documents (including authenticated documents) for each application
      • The TU München will not accept documents which include postal charges for the recipient!
      • Please be sure to visit your TUMonline application account on a regular basis. On your document checklist you will see which documents we have already received and which are still missing or incorrect!
      • Sending in your documents:
          • Print out the application form and sign it.
          • Send the signed application form along with all the required paper documents from the document checklist in your online application by the deadline (the postmark at TUM/cut-off deadline applies) to:

        Immatrikulationsamt
        Arcisstraße 21
        80333 München



    4. STUDIENPLATZANNAHME
        • Please accept your place until mid-september after receiving the admission notification.
        • If you have applied for more than one course: it is only possible to accept one place (if you are planning to take a double degree/joint honors: please contact the Student Admission by E-Mail to study@tum.de)
        • Once you have accepted your place you will have the opportunity to download official confirmation from TUMonline.

    5. PAYMENT OF COURSE FEES
        • Once you have accepted your place, please pay your course fees by bank transfer.
        • Information on fees and transfer are to be found in TUMonline under "Tuition Fees".
        • Further details on course fees
        • If you place an application for exemption from course fees, please turn in this application separatly to the Beitragsmanagement.

    6. ENROLLMENT
        • You will be enrolled at TU München as soon as
              • all documents in your TUMonline account are completely entered and marked as complete,
              • you have received your admission notification,
              • you have accepted your place in your TUMonline account
              • you have paid your course fees.
        • You will be notified accordingly by e-mail. Please note: The enrollment period starts at the end of july (winter semester) and end of january (summer semester).

    7. COURSE DOCUMENTS
        • After enrollment you can download the following course documents from TUMonline under "Print Documents":
            • Certificate of enrollment
            • certificates for rail travel and MVV (Munich public transportation network)
            • confirmation of payment
