1. CHECK WHETHER YOUR UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE QUALIFICATION IS EQUIVALENT
First of all, have your university entrance qualification checked to ensure it entitles you to study at university in Germany:
- Initial orientation is provided by the admission database of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
- If you are not sure, contact the Bavarian certificate recognition office (Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle). Please note that special regulations apply to certain countries.
- If your school-leaving certificate entitles you to study at university in Germany, you can apply for a place at TU München (-> continue with section 2).
- If your school-leaving certificate entitles you to study in your home country but not in Germany, you must take the so-called "Feststellungsprüfung" (assessment test). The "Studienkolleg" (foundation course) offered by the Bavarian universities prepares you for this exam with a two-semester course (more information on the Studienkolleg). Once you have passed the assessment test you can apply for a place at TU München.
