Welcome to the Technische Universität München!
A separate course of studies has been organized at the Technische Universität München (TUM) for exchange students. Exchange students are students who study at the TUM for a maximum of three semesters as part of an exchange program (Erasmus, TUMexchange...) or a bilateral university agreement. They do not have to pay student fees (= 500 €) at the TUM, but they are still matriculated at their home university and continue to pay the fees there. They only have to pay to the social service fee of about 42 € (http://www.studentenwerk.mhn.de).
The term for the Double Degree Program is four semester and the students are enrolled as regular students in their field of study (not as an exchange student). The fees are the same as for exchange students.
If you have been selected by your home university as an exchange student for a period of study at the TUM under one of our exchange programs, please read the next few pages of our website for some important information about your forthcoming stay in Munich and exchange visit to the TUM.
Please pay particular attention to the section on Application and Acceptance of your exchange program, since we can only accept you as an exchange student at the TUM if you have submitted an official application for admission in accordance with the guidelines. Again we want to emphasize the importance of sufficient german language skills if you plan to follow any lectures or courses.
Attention: Application period for summer term 2012 ended already, next possible start is winter semester 2012/13. Online-applications for the wintersemester 2012/13 will be possible from 15.04. - 31.05.12 !
