Welcome to the TUM: Young Academy website

TUM: Young Academy promotes academic exellence by providing targeted support outstanding, highly dedicated students and young alumni. It achieves this mainly by helping students to deepen their insights into their specific areas of study, while at the same time fostering interdisciplinary exchange and encouraging discourse on key issues facing science, culture, politics and society as a whole. It also inspires members to think outside the box and develop innovative ideas. members of the Young Academy benefit from access to an extensive network of alumni, university lecturers and emeriti from all faculties and institutions at TUM.

The program usually lasts for five years. Students typically join during the third year of their bachelor's degree and remain members during the two years of their master's degree. Once they have completed their master's, they stay in the program for the following two years as young alumni.
