TUMonline - E-Mail Addresses

Your e-mail address is of crucial importance because TUMonline sends any and all important information with regard to your studies via e-mail. This includes, among other things, information regarding

• Admissions
• Matriculation or ex-matriculation
• Reenrollment
• Examination dates and locations and, if applicable, changes
• etc.

Therefore it is imperative that you make certain that the e-mails from the system reach you.

Setting Up the TUM E-Mail Address

As an applicant you are required to use your private e-mail address. All of the e-mails from the system are sent to this address. As soon as you have accepted your study place at TU München you will receive a student’s account. There you set up an e-mail address in the domain @mytum.de, e.g. marvin.mustermann@mytum.de (instructions).
As a student you will receive all e-mails at this mytum.de address. If you are logged in, then you can retrieve these e-mails under “Mailbox” at the Mytum portal.

Forwarding E-Mails

You can also forward the e-mails from the system to your private e-mail address. You can set up forwarding in TUMonline in the “E-Mails” application (Instructions).
