Sitemap International GIST GIST – German Institute of Science and Technology – TUM Asia

TUM Asia

TUM was the first German university to establish an offshore campus – the German Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) – TUM Asia in Singapore. TUM believes that today’s technology challenges can only be solved through international collaboration. Which is why TUM works closely with the two leading universities and with key international corporations in one of Asia’s most dynamic scientific and economic hubs.
At the German Institute of Science and Technology, students from Asia, the US and Europe take courses in engineering. TUM also offers a joint PhD in conjunction with the National University of Singapore (NTU). GIST places huge emphasis on teaching its students management skills to prepare them for successful careers in industry. In addition, GIST gives its students the opportunity to gain and deepen cross-cultural insights through foreign semesters based in Germany, special cultural seminars and language courses.
TUM CREATE represents TUM Asia at the Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE) in Singapore. At this campus, the National Research Foundation Singapore (NRF) brings together renowned universities from across the globe. At the TUM CREATE Centre for Electromobility, scientists from TUM and NTU are developing an end-to-end electromobility concept in a tropical urban center with several millions inhabitants.
