Documentation Application process at TUM
Requirements
In order to apply for a doctorate at TUM, you will need to have concluded your Masters Degree with an excellent result (above-average performance with at least the equivalent to a German grade of 2,5). You can do your research in English, as long as you have informed your supervising Professor.
Application Steps
- Clearly specify your research subject / field
- Find a suited Professor within your field of interest by searching through the website of the respective faculty
- Contact the Professor directly with all the necessarydocuments
- Ask for an official supervision / acceptance letter from your Professor
- Start the recognition process of your degree (for foreign degrees)
- Submit a written application for registration on the doctoral list to the dean's office of your faculty. Either you or your supervisor can do this
- Enroll at TUM (not obligatory)
