Documentation Living in Munich
Accommodation in Munich
Accommodation prices, especially in the city center of Munich, are quite high, therefore we recommend you to start your search well ahead of your stay. Additionally, it is advisable to also search for a suited accommodation in the city suburbs which maintain good public transport links to the city center. Generally, unfurnished 1-room-appartments of a size of 30sm start at 300€ on the free market and can go up to 600€. If you receive a scholarship, you may be eligible for a subsidy towards monthly rental charges (should they exceed a certain percentage of your scholarship), please request further information from your scholarship counselor.
Furthermore, if you decide to enroll at TUM, you will be eligible to apply for a room of the Studentenwerk München (Student Halls). Those rooms cost between 200€ and 300€ a month. However since you already possess career-based qualifications, you may only apply to the following places:
