Cultural Program for International Researchers and Friends

In the winter semester 2009/10 we started a cultural program for international researchers at TUM which has ever since enjoyed great popularity amongst our international guests. The program is aimed at enabling international researchers, postdocs and professors to find out more about TUM, Munich and Bavaria and to help them feel at home during their stay by facilitating networks among each other and with the German counterparts.  Families and friends are, of course, also more than welcome to join! We try to offer an activity every month and something for everyone's taste:

The summer semester 2012 is around the corner and with it a couple of new cultural excursions and activities. Again, we try to bring "Life and Culture" in Bavaria and Munich in our monthly events, a little closer to you: In the course of our summer program, we will visit the newly built Ohel- Jakob Synagogue in the city center, the Upper Palatinate state capital regensburg, King Ludwig II.'s Royal Residence at Herrenchiemsee, the world- famous monastery Andechs and the salt mine in Berchtesgaden, Apart from interessting excursions, we also try to arrange cozy "Get- Togethers" to support cultural exchange. Therefore, we will go for a bike tour and a picnic in summer as well as for a lovely "Bavarian Dinner" at the Octoberfest Museum, to celebrate the end of the semester.

Do you come from another country and are you doing research at TUM? You are welcome to join any of our activities! We would be happy to meet you!

(Please note: Registrations by international TUM Visiting Professors and TUM Postdocs are given priority. All  registrations by persons other than this target group are also welcome, however, we can only consider their registrations if there are free places available.)
