How Can I Get an Account on the Exchange System?

Every student, employee or guest of TUM can use the central Exchange server.

Please log into TUMonline. By clicking on your name in the upper right corner of the screen you reach your "Business Card". Here you click on "E-Mail-addresses". A new windows pops up. There you can activate your Exchange account by clicking on "Exchange-Mailbox".

here you can also configure your @mytum.de (as employee and guest also @tum.de) address.

At the same time you should configure your "Sender address (main e-mail-address) and if needed adjust your "Display name". This address and the display name will be used by Exchange as your sender information.

You can be found in the Outlook-address book by "Display name".

Save your changes by clicking on "Speichern".

Please note, that changes in your configuration sometimes take some time. Please be patient.

After that you can access your mail either over the web (https://mail.tum.de - FAQ entry), or you configure Microsoft Outlook or you access your mailbox with another mailclient (like Thunderbird) .

You can migrate your old mails with help of a mailclient easily.
