Renewal and student fees

The deadline for the renewal of registration for the winter term 2012/13 is August 15, 2012. Tuition fees must be paid by this day at the latest. New students who are starting their course of studies in the winter term 2012/13 must transfer the fee by September 15. The application form for exemption from tuition fees for the winter semester 2012/13 can be handed in at the department by October 31, 2012, by e-mail to beitragsmanagement@zv.tum.de.

The future of eco-social agriculture

A conference on the future of farming (“Der Zukunft den Hof machen! Visionen und Lösungsansätze einer ökosozialen Landwirtschaft“) will take place on June 22 / 23, 2012 – organized by the Ecological Working Group Weihenstephan and featuring a panel discussion, lectures, workshops and field trips. AdvEIsor: Robots solve Sudokus

This year, those participating in the AdvElsor program will design and build a robot with their groups. The robot should be able to scan a Sudoku field, solve it and transfer the solutions onto paper. The robots will compete against each other at the closing event on June 29, 2012, 14:00 in the TUM Audimax. AdvEIsor is a tutoring program of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Every year since 2007, more than 100 students have learnt soft skills and implemented them in technical challenging projects. Professionally trained tutors are there to support them.

ZEIT CAMPUS QUESTIONS ON FUTURE

At the TUM – on July 4, 2012 – ZEIT CAMPUS will discuss questions on the future, such as: "How to become a problem solver? Requirements for young engineers." The panelists will be: Dr.-Ing. Dieter Frank, Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances Group, Head of the Electronic System and Drives Division; Prof. Dr. Petra Friedrich, chairwoman of the VDE District Association of Southern Bavaria; Florian Mume, BMW Group, Project Manager Engine Hybrid Management System MCV/BEV and Prof. Dr. Ernst Rank, Technical University of Munich, Head of Chair for Computation in Engineering and founding director of the TUM Graduate School. Moderation will be held by the chief editor of ZEIT CAMPUS, Simon Kerbusk. Admission is free! Location: August-Föppl-Hörsaal, Room 1080 ZG, on main campus – starting time is 6 p.m.

Summer schools of the partner universities

Would you like to spend a few weeks at a TUM partner university in summer? Gather international experience or prepare yourself for a planned stay abroad? Many TUM partner universities offer summer schools – and TUM students from all fields of study can participate. These short visits offer the opportunity to get an impression of the academic life of a partner university.
